Rustic birch porch broom. Slender, smooth, and sturdy - red birch is a superb material for making brooms. This branch is nice and straight, to give the broom an efficient, balanced feel. We love the hues of the smooth red birch bark. Saplings are thinned, and harvested sustainably from large birch clumps.
This broom is 58" long overall. The sweep is 10" wide, thick and full. The handle averages 1 1/8" in diameter. The bristles are trimmed long and flexible 12" from the last row of stitching.
We apply natural beeswax wood finish to protect the wood. A leather loop is provided for hanging. Stitched with natural waxed linen twine. The broom is balanced, and sweeps nicely right or left, sure to be cherished, and enjoyed.
Ready to ship. You will receive this very broom.
We have a strong passion for brooms - creating them, learning about them, and using them. Each broom we offer is built by hand using 1800's methods borrowed from the Shakers. In our small workshop in the Pacific Northwest, we weave them one at a time. Every broom is unique, and designed to last for many years. Our ambition is to offer brooms of the finest craftsmanship -- and give each one our personal guarantee of quality.
Our best wishes
