Locally called tamarack, western larch is fine grained, straight and strong. The bark has been whittled from the branch, and the wood sanded smooth. This broom has small pin knots highlighting the length of the handle. The wood is coated with natural beeswax finish made in our shop. The sweep is sewn flat with two rows of linen stitching. Tightly woven, never to loosen or unravel. A leather loop is provided for hanging on a hook.
Ready to ship. You will receive this very broom.
This broom is approximately 58" long overall. Handle diameter about 1". The sweep is approximately 9" wide, perfect for cleaning up in the kitchen. It is a long, slender broom, light in weight, and a nice balanced feel. It will look quite elegant hanging on the wall between uses.
We have a strong passion for brooms - creating them, learning about them, and using them. Each broom we offer is built by hand using 1800's methods borrowed from the Shakers. In our small workshop in the Pacific Northwest, we weave them one at a time. Every broom is unique, and designed to last for many years. Our ambition is to offer brooms of the finest craftsmanship -- and give each one our personal guarantee of quality.
Our best wishes
