New from our custom shop! Western Hazel brooms, while supplies last...
You will receive this very broom.
"This branch is art by itself. It was a pleasure to create a broom with it. Playfully contorted, yet straight and balanced enough to allow the broom to stand on it's own, given a level floor. The sanded knots are swollen, giving so much character. Overflowing with character, and still a useful tool for the kitchen and porch This may be the coolest looking hazel broom we've had in the past year!" -Kevin
Slender, smooth, and sturdy - western hazel is a superb material for making brooms. The bark of western hazel has warm reddish brown hues. When sanded smooth it resembles pecan shells or dark deer antlers. The knots have been sanded, exposing the ivory white wood which accents nicely with the bark.
This broom is 57" long overall. The sweep is 11" wide, 2 1/2" thick and full. The handle averages 1" in diameter.
We apply natural beeswax wood finish to protect the wood. A leather loop is provided for hanging. This is a broom to be hung with pride, cherished, and enjoyed.
We have a strong passion for brooms - creating them, learning about them, and using them. Each broom we offer is built by hand using 1800's methods borrowed from the Shakers. In our small workshop in the Pacific Northwest, we weave them one at a time. Every broom is unique, and designed to last for many years. Our ambition is to offer brooms of the finest craftsmanship -- and give each one our personal guarantee of quality.
Our best wishes
Kevin & Sarah
