This hearth besom is built on a manzanita handle with so much character. The wood is hard like bone, and exhibits striking colors and form. Contrasting heart wood and sap wood decorate the broomstick the entire length. The overall length of the broom is approximately 43". The diameter of the sweep is 5". The average handle diameter is about 1". This broom is bound and woven tightly, and will hold up for many years. Great for the hearth, camper, or hanging in a rustic cabin. Treated with beeswax wood finish, with a leather loop for hanging.
We have a strong passion for brooms - creating them, learning about them, and using them. Each broom we offer is built by hand using 1800's methods borrowed from the Shakers. In our small workshop in the Pacific Northwest, we weave them one at a time. Every broom is unique, and designed to last for many years. Our ambition is to offer brooms of the finest craftsmanship -- and give each one our personal guarantee of quality.
Our best wishes
