This long cooking spoon was carved with hatchet and knife from a windfallen alder tree near our shop. The spoon has been lightly baked and sealed with pure tung oil finish, which is food safe. The bowl of the spoon is deeply scooped for serving generous portions. The handle is colored with food safe "Tree Bark" milk paint, and topped with a decorative finial. Growth rings visible in the hollowed bowl.

This spoon is 11 1/2" long. The bowl is approximately 3 1/4" long and 2 1/2" wide. Carved without use of machinery or sandpaper, the spoon has a traditional whittled knife finish.

Wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry with a cloth. Hand wash only for years of enjoyment.
